IEA RES Course Review

The Institute of Estate Agents Singapore, IEA for short is founded in 1998 through the merger of 3 real estate bodies, namely the Association of Singapore Realtors , the Association of Singapore Real Estate Agents and the Society of Singapore Institute of Surveyors and Valuers Accredited Estate Agents.

On paper, this makes IEA, one of the oldest approved course provider in the market place. In this review, we will go into detail how IEA’s real estate salesperson course compare with the rest of the course providers in Singapore.

The course fees for IEA’s real estate salesperson course is pegged at $688. The good news is that candidates may use their Skillsfuture credits to recoup $500 from the fees.

In addition, if you are an NTUC union member, you may make an additional claim of up to $250 under the union training assistance programme.

When you compare IEA’s RES course prices with the rest of the course providers, they are the third in pricing when we look at the cheapest course provider.

IEA course location

The Institute of Estate Agents is located at 480 Lorong 6 Toa Payoh #07-01 HDB Hub East Wing Singapore 310480. This is the same location as a majority of the course providers.

The nearest MRT is the Toa Payoh station; For most, Toa Payoh is be a centralised location for students to conveniently commute to over the course of the RES programme.

What Do IEA Provide For Their Course Participants

For $688, IEA will provide candidates with the full RES course and their course notes to accompany the course.

Note: the schedule of the RES course at IEA may differ from their previous courses. Hence, it is advisable to look out for any changes to their latest course schedule before signing up.

On top of the regular schedule, candidates also receive 3 sessions of revision classes for teachers to go over the tutorial questions. However, these revision classes are only available on a first come first serve basis.

A much more reasonable plan would be to put your name down for the revision class as soon as you register for their RES course.

With regards to the admission criteria for the revision classes, there are no rules that require candidates to complete the RES course before signing up for the revision class.

The only criteria in place is that students must be registered with the IEA to attend the revision classes.

how can we help

All in all, we find the course offered by IEA value-for-money.

As long as you double check the class schedule and be one of the few to register for the revision sessions, you will be getting a good deal out of it.

That being said, the problem that most candidates have an issue with is the lack of support after these training sessions.

Without someone to correct their misunderstanding, they would feel lost and rudderless, like a boat without the backing of the wind for guidance.

It is fact that we won’t understand what we don’t know, without someone to steer us in the right direction, we will eventually reach the same outcome over and over again.
